[Sponge]

Salut,

Mon histoire étant assez longue, je me suis permis de refaire un topic sans trop de bla-bla, juste l'essentiel.

Voici les photos de mon coupé, acheté fin décembre 2004 pour 8750€ chez California Import en Belgique. C'est donc une Mustang coupé de 68, V8 de 289ci, boîte automatique, freins à tambour, banquette centrale et direction assistée.

Elle provient de Californie et a été importé fin 2004 en Belgique.

La première année, on a beaucoup bossé dessus:

- Installation d'une double-lignes d'échappement
- Nouveau tain avant
- Réfection des 4 tambours (cylindres, ressorts, machoire, ...)
- Intérieur (moquette, panneaux de porte, pare-soleil, tableau de bord, ...)
- Gros entretient moteur (durites, bougies, courroies, vidanges (boîte & moteur), contrôle de tous les éléments)












Evidemment, je passe tous les petits détails mais en gros, voilà ce qui a été fait la première année. La seconde année, j'ai plus bossé sur le chassis, la lutte contre la rouille. Par contre, la restauration du coupé a pris un sacrès tournant fin 2006...

J'avais mon idée en tête et fin 2006, tout a commencé. Une restauration totale de A à Z:

- Chassis
- Carrosserie
- Moteur
- Boîte de vitesse
- Freinage
- Pont
- etc...

Je ne voulais plus perdre de temps à gratter à gauche et à droite avec une brosse métallique sur une perceuse car c'est un travail de dingue et on ne passe jamais partout donc, c'est une question de budget, nous avons commencé la restauration intégrale de ce coupé.

Une fois lancé, il ne fallait rien négligé, c'est ce qu'on a fait et tout a été fait dans les règles de l'art. J'ai donc lancé, en parallèle la restauration de la caisse et la réfection intégrale du moteur.

Au menu, sâblage complet de la caisse, toutes les parties rouillées, commençant à rouiller ont été découpées puis patché. Dès qu'une tôle était trop atteinte, on l'a changée par une neuve.

Au niveau du "Restomod", jupe avant en fibre, capot en fibre, malle de coffre de type California CS, freins à disque en 13", conversion boîte automatique vers boîte mécanique, réfection du pont (rapport de pont + installation d'un différentiel), changement complet du faisceau électrique, bref, beaucoup de travail et ça fait presque 1 année complète que la caisse est immobilisée...

Première étape, on commence à démonter et on sort le moteur... Le bloc est bien de 1968, en côte d'origine mais fissuré entre 2 cylindres... Comme je compte mettre un kit stroker, je ne prends pas de risque et je cherche un autre bloc. Difficile à trouver mais j'en ai trouvé un pour 300€, en côte 0.30; bloc de 71 en très bon état, un honnage et c'est parti!

Ensuite, on commence à démonter la voiture, c'est simple, on vire tout et on change tout ce qui doit l'être... Le constat arrive vite, c'est assez bien rouillé et ça cache des surprises mais bon, on est motivé et on continue!!!

Petite pause, on présente le pédalier car je souhaite passer de boîte automatique en boîte mécanique. A la base, une Borg Warner T10 mais elle a cassé pendant le rôdage du moteur, je suis donc passé vers une T5Z...

Présentation des éléments du Restomod, pièces en fibre de verre, évidemment, elles méritent beaucoup de travail pour les rendre parfaite!!!

Maintenant, un peu de réparation, base de la lunette arrière et réparation des cheminées, c'est du boulot mais pas le choix, à ce stade, on ne veut pas bâcler! Les cheminées sont trop attaquées pour être réparées, on a choisi de changer la tôle entière pour repartir sur une base saine.

La partie la plus intéressante, sabmâge intégral de la carrosserie, 1 couche d'apprêt phosphatant, 2 couches d'anti-rouille couvrant et la peinture finale. Evidemment toutes les jointures sont protégés par un produit de chez 3M et le chassis recevra 2 fines couches d'anti-gravillons.

Préparation de la voiture pour la peinture, beaucoup d'heures passées pour la rendre parfaite mais bon, on prend son temps pour faire du travail propre et ça repousse tout le temps la fin des travaux...

Petite précision pour le moteur: kit stroker 331ci (5.4l), pack Edelbrock Performer RPM (culasses alu, AAC, pipe d'admission, chaîne de distribution), carbu Holley 670cfm Street Avenger, nouveau vilo, bielles Summit Stage I, pistons forgés Ross Racing, embrayage renforcé (jusqu'à 600Nm de couple), renfort de palier (main stud girdle), boulonnerie complète ARP, culbuteurs à rouleaux, etc... bref, s'ajoute à la liste des pièces, un équilibrage complet de tout l'ensemble mobile et bien la facture du moteur arrive à près de 10000€. Un excellent combo pour une bonne puissance et conduite à bas régime...

Vraiment impressionnant tout ce que tu as fait sur ta voiture Sponge.
Voilà une rénovation qui fait rêver beaucoup de monde sur ce forum, c'est certain (moi en premier...).
Même si personnellement d'habitude je préfère les stangs non modifiées il faut bien dire que la tienne a un look d'enfer et qu'elle attirera à coup sûr beaucoup d'attention.

Rare sont les mustangs restaurées au top comme la tiennne Dylan. Elle a été restaurée pour durer!
En regardant les photos çà a l'air facile et rapide mais ceux qui sont déjà passer par là savent que restaurer une caisse c'est pas rose tous les jours c'est très looong.

Je te tire donc mon chapeau pour tous ce boulot et pour le résultat que tu as obtenu.

Oui pas de souci je ne l'ai pas mal pris lol mais je compte bien faire la route dès que possible de toutes facons. Et si j'ai bien compris en lisant tout les postes j'ai plutot intérêt a prendre des casiers dans le coffre
